Hawaiian Koa Ukulele
By ukewarehouse on Nov 19, 2009 in Buy
Hawaiian koa is the traditional wood for ukuleles. The original ukulele makers such as Diaz and Nunes always made their ukuleles from koa. However, over the years koa has been over used and is nowhere near as widely available as it has been. This, added to the increasing desirability of koa ukuleles, has lead to a steep increase in the price of koa ukuleles.
But they do remain the most sought after type of ukulele and with good reason. No other type of ukulele creates quite the same distinctive sound as a Hawaiian koa ukulele.
