Martin more-or-less ceased making ukuleles in the 1960s when the uke went out of fashion. However, they have started full scale production again in recent years. The S-0 is the standard ukulele that they currently make.

It's a nice instrument but doesn't enjoy the same reputation as the vintage Martin ukuleles. Unlike those ukuleles, it is made in China and finished in the US.

The most famous player of the S-O has to be Kate Micucci who you may know as Stephanie Gooch, the ukulele girl from Scrubs. Kate grew up in Nazareth, the home of Martin ukuleles.
